Course Content

This vocal music course lays a strong foundation in Hindustani Classical singing while also exploring the expressive world of semi-classical music. Students begin with essential vocal exercises to improve breath control, pitch accuracy, and voice strength. Daily riyaz practices and guided techniques help develop vocal clarity, stamina, and flexibility.

The classical section introduces students to the core structure of Hindustani music, including swaras, ragas, taal, and laya. Through ragas like Yaman and Bhupali, learners will practice basic compositions (bandish), simple alaaps, and taans. Emphasis is placed on listening skills, voice culture, and developing a steady understanding of raga-based singing.

Students also explore semi-classical styles such as bhajans, ghazals, and light music, learning to bring emotion and nuance to their singing. The course balances technical discipline with creative expression, helping learners grow into confident, musically aware vocalists with the tools to perform both classical and lighter genres.
