Prarambhika

Prarambhika is a beginner-level course designed for those who wish to build a strong foundation in Indian Classical Vocal Music. The course introduces students to the basic theory of Indian classical music, including essential concepts of swaras (notes) and taals (rhythmic cycles), helping them understand the structure and flow of classical compositions.

Special focus is given to voice modulation, correct breath control, and the daily practice of alankars (note patterns) to develop vocal strength, clarity, and flexibility. Students will gradually learn basic ragas such as Yaman, Bilawal, Kafi, and Khamaj, and explore sargam geet, geet, aalaap, and simple taal-based renditions.

To provide a more comfortable and focused learning environment, separate batches for male and female students are conducted. This course serves as the first step for any aspiring classical vocalist looking to understand and perform the traditional art form with discipline and authenticity.
