Two sangeet paddhati of India, Dhwani, Origin of Dhwani, Naad, Naad-Sthan, Shruti, Swar, Prakrit Swar, Achal and Chal Swar, Shudha and Vikrit-swar (komal and tiwra), Saptak ,Madhra) Madhya, Taar, (Thaat, Raag, Varna , Sthai ) Aaroh , Avaroh Sanchari,(Alankar (Palta), Raag Jati Audav), Shadav, Sampurn Vadi, (Samvadi , Anuvadi, Varhit Swar, Pakad Alap Taan, Khayal, Sargam, Sthai , Antara,Lay Vilambit) Madhya, Drut), Matra, Taal Vibhag, Sam Tali, Khali Theka, Aavartan, Thah and Dugun.

• Raga Introduction 

  Brief introduction to the raags of the syllabus.

   

• Taal Introduction 

  Complete introduction to the taals of the syllabus and practice of writing them in Thah and Dugun.

• Raag recognition by written swar groups.

• Elementary knowledge of any one method of Vishnu-Digambara or Bharat-Khande paddhati.

• Brief biographies of Vishnu Digambar and Bhatkhande and brief introduction to their musical works.
