Learn Harmonium - Beginner Level

Start your musical journey with the Beginner Level Harmonium Course, conducted by Vijay Deshmukh, designed for students who want to build a strong foundation in playing the harmonium. The course is structured over six months, gradually introducing students to the basics of the harmonium, Alankars, and simple melodies. In the first month, learners begin with basic information about the instrument and Alankars 1–10, progressing through Alankars 11–30 and nursery rhymes in the second month. By the third month, students practice Alankars 31–45, nursery rhymes, and the basics of Raag Bhoop, including Astai and Antara. The fourth and fifth months focus on Astai and Antara Aalap and Taane, covering half-line and full-line exercises, helping students develop precision, hand coordination, and melodic understanding. The sixth month emphasizes practical application, with students performing songs based on Raag Bhoop and integrating all learned techniques. By the end of the course, participants will be able to play harmonium confidently, understand basic Raags, and perform simple compositions, making it the perfect starting point for aspiring harmonium players.
